Liberals learn novel ways of campaigning and lobbying for liberal ideas

Members of the liberal organizations and partners of FNSt Pakistan learnt new techniques and skills for successful campaigning. The German expert, member of board of directors and treasurer of Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNSt), Mr. Manfred Richter conducted the seminar for liberal friends on a special request. This activitiy was organized by FreedomGate Pakistan (FGP) in collaboration with FNSt.

The seminar focused on preparing for the strategy and tactics for an effective promotion campaign making the campaign group conscious of their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Mr. Richter delineated with examples that the essence of a campaign is to determine our aims, being aware of our competitors and concentrate on the key messages of the campaign. Finding appropriate words for messages in the form of slogans keeping in mind the targets groups was stressed most in the seminar. The participants were given tasks in group work with in their special sociological settings to sharpen and practice their newly learnt skills.

The participants appreciated very much that Manfred Richter spiced the seminar with practical examples based on his huge experiences from election campaigns in Germany.

A very positive side effect of this activity was also that 22 Liberals from different organizations and parties found new ways of networking together.

It was the third seminar of the series by FreedomGate Pakistan in collaboration with FNSt in 2007. Another one is planned for December to polish up the moderation skills of office holders of liberal organizations and institutions.
