New Representative in FNF Pakistan
 
Hamare ghar tashrif laiye!” With these Urdu-words the new Representative Olaf Kellerhoff of the Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNF) has invited his guests to keep in touch with Foundation for Freedom. “Please visit us!” might it be translated, but literally this phrase goes far beyond: “Please carry honour to our house [viz. by your visit]”. Many did so at the re-ception in February: Around 75 Pakistani partners, foundation’s friends and members of the lib-eral family joined the common place to see Regional Director René Klaff introducing solemnly the new commer.
“You do not take friends or family to a hotel but furthermore to your home.” claimed and ex-plained the 38 year old Resident Representative the location. Accordingly, those came from La-hore, Peshawar, Hyderabad or even Karachi to meet with other diplomats, academics, journalists, free marketers or human rights activists in the Islamabad office.
Four weeks before the political and Islamic scientist had taken it over. In challenging times he nonetheless declared to his invitees: “I have opted for Pakistan. I want to be in Pakistan. I want to live in Pakistan. And I want to work with Pakistani people for better future.” Thus, he committed himself to the country, the office and FNF country office.
